At present, there are two design solutions on the market, one is the integration of the lamp driver, and the other is the separation of the lamp driver. The lamp driver is integrated: the LED lamp and the driver IC are all on a PCB board, and the IC is on the front of the PCB, eliminating the need for copper strips.
Separation of lamp drivers: LEDs are on an independent PCB board, and the driver IC is on another PCB board. The two PCB boards are connected with a pin and a row to make signal connections.
Comparison of lamp drive integration and lamp drive separation:
1. From the cost point of view: the cost of the integrated lamp drive is slightly lower.
2. From the maintenance point of view: the separation of the lamp driver is easy to maintain, because he can replace each other to detect, and the lamp separation lamp is concentrated together, it is easy to change the lamp.
3. From the perspective of heat dissipation, the separation of the lamp driver is more conducive to heat dissipation.
There are usually the following reasons for the separation of lamp drivers:
First: The LED display uses a plug-in LED. The LED foot affects the normal placement of the back driver IC, so the lamp drive separation method is used.
Second: The LED screen dot pitch is too small, which affects the wiring of the PCB board in the electronic design. The separation of the lamp driver can increase the wiring area of the PCB board.
Third: It is conducive to heat dissipation without affecting the display effect of the LED. For example, if the lamp driver is integrated, when the LED lamp density is very large, the heat of the driver IC will be very high, and the heat of the driver IC will be directly affected by the PCB Go to the LED lamp facing the IC, so that the color of the LED lamp changes. This situation does not occur with lamp drive separation.
It is worth noting that in general, the indoor scanning screen (because of the small number of chips) uses a relatively large number of lamp drivers (saving costs), and outdoor LED display screens usually use the form of separate lamp drivers to extend the screen effect and life.
