Product portfolio supports electrification of AWP

These products are now being designed for multiple vehicle markets.

Dana currently offers wheeled drive systems for electric AWPs with motors ranging from 3-7 metric tons (3-8 tons). Dana engineers are providing other wheeled drive and shaft solutions for AWP applications up to 24 metric tons (26 tons) by upgrading Dana technology.

In addition, Dana is developing a drive system that integrates advanced motor and wheel drive technology in a compact package to optimize the performance of electric AWPs with a total load of 8-12 metric tons (9-13 tons). The drive system is now available for OEM pre-production testing.

Dana technology enhances AWP security

With over 20 years of experience in designing and producing a wide range of drive products, Derner has helped OEMs produce products that meet platform design, load sensing, dynamic terrain sensing, safety requirements and other global safety standards for AWP. . For example, Dana now offers a 32-bit Brevini® controller that uses the joystick for smooth, precise control, including non-linear behavior, with many adjustable parameters.

In addition, Dana is transforming the Spicer® Smart SuiteTM Intelligent Load Monitoring System (ILMS) to make it suitable for AWP. The system is now available for pre-production testing by vehicle manufacturers. It uses patented proprietary data collection technology throughout the vehicle to prevent rollover accidents, predict static loads, and provide intelligent calibration management.

The Spicer Smart Suite ILMS alerts the operator to potential tipping, reducing the risk of vehicle failure, increasing productivity and accuracy, and enhancing the long-term durability of the drive train.
